Important Notice
Participants are advised to read the following Terms of Entry and Race Rules carefully prior to the event. Participants should seek medical advice if they are in any doubt about their health condition before taking part. These Terms of Entry and Official Rules are established to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of the event, in compliance with applicable regulations and relevant athletics governing bodies.
Registration
- Registration is available only via the official website: surabayamarathon.id.
- An official confirmation will be sent to your registered email address upon successful registration. If you do not receive confirmation within one hour, please contact the Organiser.
- Participants are required to provide accurate and complete information during registration, including their full name and date of birth, as stated on a valid and recognised form of identification in Indonesia (KTP / KIA / Student ID / Passport / KITAS).
- Registration may be cancelled if any information provided is found to be incorrect, incomplete, or inconsistent. This may also result in disqualification from the race results and forfeiture of any prizes.
- All participants must collect their race bib, event apparel, timing chip, and other materials ("Race Pack") either in person or via an authorised representative, by presenting valid identification and the race pack collection confirmation. Details regarding collection will be published on the official website.
- Participants are not permitted to transfer their bib number to another person. Any participant found to be in violation of this rule will be disqualified.
- All entry fees are non-refundable. The Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry or disqualify any participant who provides false information, fails to complete payment, or does not meet the stated entry requirements.
Eligibility & Participation
- The event is open to all participants, including international runners.
- Participants must meet the minimum age requirement for their respective race category.
- The minimum age for the Full Marathon and Half Marathon categories is 17 years old on the day of the race
- The minimum age for the 10K and 5K categories is 12 years old on the day of the race
- Indonesian citizens aged 40 years or above will be placed in the Master division.
- Participants must:
- Wear their official race bib on the front of their shirt at all times during the race
- Be present at the start area no later than 15 minutes before the scheduled start time of their respective category
- Chip timing at the start line will be closed 10 minutes after the category start time has commenced
- Follow all instructions from race officials, marshals, and medical personnel
- Bib numbers and entries are strictly non-transferable.
- Participants who start outside their assigned start time or do not comply with event rules may be disqualified.
Race Conduct & Course Rules
- Participants must conduct themselves in a safe and sportsmanlike manner at all times.
- The following are strictly prohibited on the race course:
- Pets
- Bicycles, skates, or any wheeled devices
- Strollers
- Unregistered participants accompanying runners
- Participants may be disqualified or may not receive an official result if:
- Fails to follow instructions from event officials
- Fails to wear their bib on the front of their shirt at all times during the race
- Fails to cross the starting line within 10 minutes from the start time
- Behaves in an unsportsmanlike or unsafe manner
- Gains an unfair advantage (e.g. cutting the course)
- Participants must retire from the race immediately if instructed to do so by event officials or medical personnel.
Cut-Off Time and Checkpoints
- Participants must complete the race within the official cut-off time for their respective category.
- In order to ensure that roads are reopened to normal traffic by 11:00 (Surabaya time), the Organiser may enforce intermediate cut-off points along the course. Participants who fail to meet these cut-off times may be required to stop the race and board official transport back to the finish area.
- There will be several checkpoints along the race route. Participants who fail to pass all checkpoints may be disqualified or have their results deemed invalid.
Timing & Results
- All participants will receive an official timing chip and must wear it as instructed throughout the race.
- Gun time will be used to determine prize winners
- Net time will be used for personal results
- Participants must wear their timing chip from the start line until after crossing the finish line.

Participants may be disqualified or may not receive an official result if:
- Do not wear their assigned timing chip
- Use multiple timing chips
- Lose their timing chip
- Do not pass all checkpoints
- Participants who exceed the official cut-off time will not receive an official finishing time.
- In rare cases, technical issues may result in missing timing data. The Organiser shall not be held responsible for such occurrences.
- All results are subject to official verification before being declared final.
- All results and podium decisions are final and cannot be contested.
Baggage Deposit
- A baggage deposit facility will be available at the Race Village for participants.
- Participants are advised not to deposit valuables. The Organiser shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to personal belongings.
- Any uncollected baggage after the designated collection period will not be the responsibility of the Organiser.
Prizes
- Prizes will be awarded across all race categories (Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K) and divisions (Open, National, and Master).
- All participants are eligible to compete for podium placement
- Prizes are subject to applicable taxes under Indonesian law
- Winners are determined based on gun time

Division eligibility:
- Open Division: Open to both Indonesian citizens and foreign nationals. No Master division applies
- National Division: Open to Indonesian citizens aged up to 39 years on race day
- Master Division: Open only to Indonesian citizens aged 40 years or over on race day
- Each participant is eligible to receive only one prize per race category and division.
- Participants in the Master division remain eligible for National division prizes. If a Master participant records a faster time than other National participants, they will be awarded the National prize. In such cases, the ranking of other National and Master participants will be adjusted accordingly.
- The Organiser reserves the right to verify the identity of participants at any time.
- The Organiser reserves the right to conduct doping tests. Winners must comply with all testing procedures. Titles and prizes may be revoked in the event of a failed test.
- Any protest regarding results must be submitted within 30 minutes of the official result announcement.
- All prizes will be awarded in Indonesian Rupiah.
- All potential winners are required to remain in the verification area/tent until the winner determination process for the podium has been completed.
Medical & Safety
- Participants are responsible for ensuring they are medically fit to take part in the race.
- Medical personnel will be available throughout the course and at the race venue.
- The Organiser reserves the right to withdraw any participant deemed unfit to continue for safety reasons.
- Any medical assistance provided during the race shall not result in disqualification, provided the participant is deemed fit to continue.
- The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify any participant for misconduct, including unsafe behaviour, abuse, or failure to follow official instructions.
Photography & Media
By participating in the event, participants grant permission to the Organiser to use photographs, video recordings, and other media taken during the event for promotional and marketing purposes without compensation.
Amendments
- The Organiser reserves the right to amend, modify, or supplement these Rules & Regulations at any time.
- Participants shall be bound by any such amendments published by the Organiser.
- Failure to comply with these Rules & Regulations may result in disqualification and removal from official results.
Liability
- Participants take part in the event at their own risk.
- Participants hereby waive and release the Organiser and all associated parties from any liability, claims, or damages arising from participation in the event.
- The Organiser shall not be liable for any direct or indirect loss, injury, or damage, including but not limited to loss of property, personal injury, or other incidental or consequential damages.
- Any compensation, where applicable, shall not exceed the amount of the registration fee paid.
Language
In the event of any inconsistency between the Indonesian and English versions of these Rules & Regulations, the Indonesian version shall prevail.
